  1. Personally, I think if a champion doesn't defend within six months of their last fight, they should be stripped. The only exception being if their opponent pulls out of the fight very last minute. Don't let champions fight for a second belt, unless they agree in the contract to immediately drop one the day after the fight if they win the second belt. The sport is too fast moving and it's so hard for people to get title shots thesedays.

  2. No sorry I don’t agree, making it black and white goes against a logical justice system in a democracy. Let’s just give every person that murders someone life in prison even if one person intended it and the other didn’t…doesn’t work like that. Ferguson got stripped because it was an interim belt not an undisputed one, they didn’t want to hold up the division for him so in the same way he won the interim belt that khabib was supposed to fight for before pulling out, khabib wins the undisputed belt because Tony had to pull out, no Idea how people don’t understand that, its really eye for an eye but they want to say Ferguson was hard done by. If we made it black and white, you’ll have champions literally fighting through shit like this and it can end up being fatal. Some will take the risk of continuing to compete and if something bad happens the blood is on the hands of the ufc and the people calling for it to be black and white.

  3. Stripping him now would be cruel. But he should have been stripped earlier when he said that he won't be able to defend the belt in 2018. Moreover, the hernia did not pop up overnight. He knew he had hernia beforehand but still pretended that he would fight. That's not fair for the fans. I'm a fan of Whittaker but I think he did not declare his hernia just to prevent any interim title fight between Gastelum and Adesanya. He pulled out at the last minute just to prevent any interim title talk.
