The MMA Hour’s host Luke Thomas joined OTB AM to look ahead to Conor McGregor’s show down with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

He explained why it’s a risk for the Irishman to attempt to hit peak performance against a 26-0 fighter after two years away from the sport.

We also discussed the UFC’s approach to drug testing and whether its deal with USADA has helped to clean up the promotion.

  1. Dana was trying to say Nate can't decide he wants a fight at 165 after tickets are already on sale, how about the UFC being perfectly fine selling tickets and they don't even have a main event!

  2. It did work a bit on mayweather because he did say he disliked conor during but it was not enough to matter because as luke said he is a seasoned boxer with around 400 amateur fights if I am not mistaken and the greatest boxer of this time. Mind games can work if the skill level is equal but that fight was against a guy in his first fight vs a dude with 49 and 0 record.

  3. I disagree with the last point, a lot of people do want to clean up the sport, we want to know who the best is and its impossible to call Silva or Jones the best after each was popped twice for PEDs

  4. I've never wanted a fighter to retire but McGregor I'm begging him to call it a day . Built by Dana White I'm praying to God the both leave together after this fight . This 230 main event is one of the reason why .

  5. Great to see Off the Ball hooking up with some reputable mma journalists who give the sport further creedance and are really knowlegable on other sports also! Keep up the good work. 👍👍
