Boone, who cited “wear and tear” as part of the reason for the All-Star’s struggles, said he did not consider using Sanchez as a pinch-hitter Wednesday. He perhaps could’ve gone to Sanchez after Greg Bird’s leadoff double in the seventh or in the ninth inning.
