Hello and welcome to the Live Blog for Day 4 of the fifth and final Test between England and India at The Oval. That this is an Indian team that won’t go down without a fight has been evident throughout the series. Their only problem has been that they haven’t been able to assert their dominance despite being in positions to do so. On Sunday, they had their backs against the wall, starting the day at 174 for 6. A fighting partnership of 77 between Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja frustrated England before the left-hander launched a counter-attack to finish with an unbeaten 86 as England were only able to eke out a 40-run lead.

India would have hoped to pick up early wickets and put the hosts under pressure. However, Alastair Cook, taking guard for one final time, came up with an unbeaten 46 and was involved in an unbroken half-century stand with skipper Joe Root to extend the lead to 154 by the time stumps were called. All eyes will be on the 33-year-old as he hopes to go out with a bang. A three-figure score in his final Test appearance will be the icing on the cake. Can he do that and help England set a target that’s out of India’s reach?

While we wait for the day’s proceedings to get underway, here’s something to keep you occupied for a while:
