The Best Striking Prospect in the UFC: Israel “Style Bender” Adesanya

Total Video Views: 11917

When there is a superstar emerging, I can typically spot it! I was able to call McGregor’s rise years before his championship run, and Tenshin’s superstardom as soon as he beat Wangchalong.

Israel Adesanya is the future. As a tri-sport athlete (mma, boxing, kickboxing), he had been on my “to look out for” list years ago due to his friend and coach Mike Angrove!

To be honest, I think he captured the Glory title when he fought for it. Now, he is in the UFC with 12-0 MMA record with 12 KOs.

You are looking at the only “aristic technician” striker in the UFC that is capable of winning in the highest echelons of striking with this style.

Enjoy his arrival.

  2. Wow, helluva fighter. He reminds me of Remy Bonjasky way back when. I think you're right, Lawrence. He's definitely one to watch! I hope he gets some strong grappling methods in the near future.

  3. He 100% won that title fight in glory! i'm psyched to see Izzy's stock begin to skyrocket. Also happy to see a lot more fighters open up to attacking the body, it felt like it was extremely under-utilized for years in MMA

  4. his recent outing really exposed his grappling though, he isn't quite good enough grapple-wise, Yet. I feel elite grapplers would chew him up, or perhaps someone who could hang well enough with him on the feet to integrate their grappling into a full mma game could do well vs Israel. Jones has elite wrestling to go with his creativity, aldo had some of the best takedown defence we've ever seen, Anderson did well with grappling until he met Sonnen (although he did triangle him and win both), hell even Barbosa can use his grappling well, as is more well-rounded than people give him credit for. I just worry Israel wont be able to get good enough in time.

  5. Been watching while he was competing in 8 men tournaments in NZ. In one of his matches after the first round, he literally stood in the middle of the ring waiting for the next round. No water, no towel and pure confidence. I was like WTF? He stood looking over at his opponent sitting in their stool. Letting him know you ain’t got a chance in hell. Mother effen intimidating. This guy is going to be big guys.
