Stipe Miocic will defend his heavyweight title against Francis Ngannou on Jan. 20 at UFC 220 in Boston. It will be one of the most significant heavyweight title fights in the promotion’s history.

I make my picks for the five most significant up to this point. You may disagree, but these are my choices.

  1. Another fight that might not be as popular as these but I think was really significant was when Mo Smith beat Mark Coleman. It was the first time in mma history we saw a striker with a successful game plan against an elite wrestler in a championship fight.

  2. francis vs stipe most significant fight in the heavyweight history nah, francis hasn't done enough to merit being a goat or a legend in the game he is just begining, a fight between cain vs stipe would be the msot important significant fight in eavyweight history

  3. My list:
    Sylvia vs Couture at #5
    Couture vs Brock at #4
    Brock vs Cain at #3
Brock vs Mir 2 at #2
Cain vs JDS 3 at #1
I can't rank Brock vs Mir over Cain vs JDS, cause unlike Cain n JDS, Brock n Mir never had a 3rd fight it just ended at 1-1
