The Fulham winger has been in enviable form this season with 16 Championship goals and has now been backed in to be on the plane to Russia in June
Ryan Sessegnon has been backed in to 4/1 (5.0) with bet365 to be included in England’s World Cup squad.
The Fulham winger continued his impressive season with his 16th goal against Derby County on Monday night, where he also registered his seventh assist.
Just four days ago, Sessegnon was out at 10/1 (11.0) to be on the plane to Russia but his match-winning performance in the Championship play-off semi-final has seen his odds shorten.
Gareth Southgate is set to announce the 23-man squad on Wednesday and the inclusion of Sessegnon would make him the first Three Lions player outside the top flight to be selected in a World Cup since Steve Bull in 1990.
The 17-year-old – who turns 18 this week – will also break Michael Owen’s record as youngest England World Cup player if he features at all during the tournament.
His 16 goals this season make him Fulham’s leading attacker and the joint-fifth top scorer in the entire league, whilst seven assists put him second behind only Stefan Johansen for his side in that category.
Jonjo Shelvey remains in the running at 7/4 (2.75) following his superb showing against Chelsea on Sunday, whilst Jack Wilshere is 4/11 (1.36) despite starting just 12 Premier League games for Arsenal this term.
