The batsman was banned for six months from domestic cricket and was fined BDT 20 lakhs.
“It has had a huge impact on me at a personal level, but as a professional cricketer, I treat it past is past,” Sabbir told reporters when his attention was drawn about it. “I am trying to recover from it, and not let it affect me in the tri-series,” he added.
However, Sabbir is not ready to compromise with his aggressive nature of play that has already earned him three demerit. points. “I am an aggressive player and I always like to remain that way. I am not thinking too much about the demerit points because there is no problem whether it is 1 or 10, all that matters [for me] is performing well in the series,” he noted.
Sabbir also observed that he has worked on his technique against spin ahead of the tri-series also involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, starting from January 15.
“I might have had some poor performances off late but I am well prepared. I have tried to strengthen my weak points. I will try to do well in the upcoming matches. I worked on playing spin; playing off the front foot. I want to make a strong comeback,” he said,
