After a game-defining partnership with Mitchell Marsh on Day 3, William Bosisto carried on the good work on the final day to put the game well beyond Queensland’s reach. At one point on Day 3, when Western Australia were struggling at 156 for 5 in response to a massive 448 for 9, it appeared as if Queensland will take full points from the game. Marsh and Bosisto however, stood against that endeavour and denied the home side.
On Day 4, Western Australia resumed from 450 for 7 and added another 90 runs as Bosisto joined Marsh as the second batsman in the line-up with a 150-plus score. He fell for a fantastic 167 and Western Australia folded for 540 – with a lead of 92 runs.
An unbeaten 80 from Queensland opener Joe Burns helped wipe out the deficit before the game ended in a draw.
Brief Scores: Queensland 448/9 decl (Matt Renshaw 89, Jimmy Pierson 82; Matthew Kelly 3-80) & 135/2 (Joe Burns 80*; Mitchell Marsh 1-33) drew with Western Australia 540 (William Bosisto 167, Mitchell Marsh 151; Mark Steketee 3-84).
