David Warner is all set to turn up for Randwick Petersham cricket club in the Sydney Premier Cricket Season as he tries to get his career back on track. This after fellow opener – Cameron Bancroft – was also given a green signal to play in the Western Australia Premier Cricket.
Mike Whitney, former Aussie pacer and president of Randwick Petersham Cricket club, confirmed the news of David’s availability for the club’s first three or four games. He said, “We’re delighted to have him. He’s one of the best players Australia has had since World War Two. He’s been speaking to one of our club officials and he has committed to the first three or four rounds of the season. “
The destructive opener who was handed out the sanction in late March will finally to get witness some action. In earlier years, the opener used to have international and various league commitments and turning out for the club was never a possibility.
The experienced southpaw will share his experience with many young cricketers and the club will surely benefit from it. The club president did not mince words while talking about the new association with Warner. He mentioned, “Everyone is excited to have him. He will be great in the changing rooms with younger players.
As the CA ban extended to state matches as well, this is the only form of cricket that will help Warner regain some sort of confidence and match practice before the ban ends in March 2019.
